Teardrop Type Cleanroom Lighting Fixture
In ISO Class 4 (Fed-Std-209E Class 10) or higher cleanrooms, most of the ceiling space is dedicated to air filters. The remaining areas are situated directly beneath the channels of the ceiling grid. The fixtures are designed with an aerodynamic, teardrop shape.
The purpose of this design was to minimize disturbance of the laminar airflow down into the room from the ceiling air supply.
Lower profile teardrops are available using smaller diameter lamps and extend only three to four inches below the ceiling.
Regulatory Compliance
These luminaries are UL listed and CSA certified for wet locations and are manufactured in accordance with USDA, FDA, and NSF guidelines. All fixtures have been tested and reported in compliance with Federal Standard 209.
Air Foil Design: Teardrop Light Fixture features a narrow, airfoil design which minimizes turbulence in cleanrooms requiring a unidirectional air flow. The fixture is suitable for use in Federal Standard 209 Class 100 to 100,000 and ISO Class 5 to 9 cleanroom environments.
Smooth Environmental Side: A single-piece, clear extruded prismatic acrylic lens with an internal horizontal prism pattern ensures a smooth surface on the environmental side. White, closed-cell gasketing seals the lens to the end caps, preventing biohazardous contaminants from growing inside the fixture. The enclosed 2-inch wide gasketed housing can be mounted on any 2-inch T-Bar. Recessed 7/8-inch diameter knockouts on each end cap and at each end of the mounting surface allow for vapor-tight conduit fittings, enabling either continuous row mounting or top access.
Sealed End Caps: The housings are made from die-formed 22-gauge cold-rolled steel (CRS) with 16-gauge spot-welded and sealed end caps. They feature a standard white, high-reflectance polyester powder coat finish with a gloss level of 85%, a reflectance of 93%, a hardness rating of 2H, and a salt spray resistance of 500 hours.
Mounting Data: the power connection thru the top of the fixture and the T-Bar. A hole must be drilled in the T-Bar for allowing the wires to pass thru. Knockouts are located on each end of the top surface for allowing power connections. The fixture is secured to the T-Bar thru the holes located on the top of the fixture.
