Cleanroom Ceiling and Roof Panels are essential components in maintaining the controlled environment of a cleanroom. These panels are designed to meet stringent cleanliness standards and provide structural integrity.
These panels are crucial for maintaining the high standards required in cleanroom operations, ensuring both product quality and safety.
Our cleanroom ceiling panels feature a T-grid (2’ x 4’) that supports filters, light fixtures, and tiles. The 1.50” hardwall T-bar systems include gasketing material and are supported by a corrugated steel deck, panel roof, or structural steel for gaps over 20’. We also offer aluminum T-grid and gel grid ceiling systems for special applications.
T-grid
T-grid hardware is interchangeable, providing easy adjustment for dead-level ceiling installation. Cleanroom ceiling grid is available in 2"-wide extruded aluminum or 2" powder-coated steel T-Grid. Flow-thru T-Grid Systems are available in 2" Heavy-Duty walkable and Gel-Seal Style suspension.
Lighting
Cleanroom Light Fixtures are especially sealed for cleanrooms and allow re-lamping and ballast removal from room side without contaminating clean areas. Cleanroom lighting is available in 2'x4' drop-in troffer lights. Teardrop Lights have a narrow airfoil design to minimize turbulence in cleanrooms requiring a unidirectional air flow and can be easily mounted on 2" T-Bar. Flow-Through Light Troffers accept a SAM® Filter Unit on the top and allow HEPA or ULPA-filtered air to flow through the fixture and into the cleanroom.
Ceiling Tiles
Cleanroom Ceiling Panels feature factory-sealed edges and a white vinyl face.

The ceiling system is essential for keeping cleanrooms safe in fields where flying contaminants are under control. Every part of the design of a cleanroom must help meet strict cleanliness standards, whether for flight, microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare. Ceiling systems that work well are necessary for making places safe and valuable. At Ziebaq, we offer creative ceiling options created to meet these high standards. This will ensure that your cleanroom works quickly and correctly.
A cleanroom ceiling isn't just a structural part; it's also an essential part of the general plan to keep germs from spreading. The ceiling affects how air moves, how well particles stick around, and how clean the space is generally. When built correctly, a cleanroom ceiling can help keep dust and other contaminants from building up, ensuring the room meets all the rules for its industry.
Cleanroom ceilings are necessary in many fields, such as
• Aerospace: In the aerospace industry, parts that affect flying safety and performance must be kept very clean.
• Microelectronics: An environment of contamination is needed to produce sensitive electrical parts in microelectronics.
• Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices: Ensuring that goods are clean keeps patients safe.
• Food and Beverage: Keeping the area clean helps keep the safety and quality of the products.
• Healthcare: Ceilings in cleanrooms help keep hospitals and labs clean.
Ziebaq's ISO-classified stone wool ceiling tiles are made to meet strict standards for low particle emissions. These tiles naturally fight moisture and sound and perform well in Class A fire tests, making them an excellent choice in cleanrooms.
When used with Chicago Metallic® gasketed ceiling grid systems, our ceiling tiles provide a complete solution that can be used in various settings, from large factories to specialised labs. This mix ensures that the ceiling of your cleanroom helps with working efficiency and following industry standards.
1. Low Particle Emission: Our stone wool ceiling tiles are made to reduce the amount of airborne pollutants, which means they can be used in cleanrooms.
2. Sound Absorption: Materials that absorb sound effectively make workers more comfortable and help them focus, which is especially important in busy places.
3. Moisture Resistance: Stone wool naturally resists moisture, which helps keep the surroundings healthy and stops mould growth.
4. Fire Safety: Class A fire performance ensures that the ceiling materials meet strict fire safety rules, providing extra protection.
ISO defines cleanrooms as facilities with rigorous air pollution controls. Cleanroom ceilings must be created and designed according to ISO 14644-1, which measures air cleanliness by particle count.
Key Aspects of ISO 14644-1:
• Particle Size Measurement: The standard measures particles from 0.1 to 5 microns.
• Concentration Measurement: The number of particles per cubic metre in the air classifies cleanrooms.
Cleanrooms are divided into nine classes based on the number of particles they contain. Class 1 has the strictest rules. These categories are essential for businesses that need to manage airborne toxins carefully.
Ziebaq has five types of ceiling tiles with different ISO ratings to meet the needs of different cleanrooms. These categories ensure you can pick the right ceiling option for your business based on its needs and applicable rules.
1. Enhanced Cleanliness:Our ceiling solutions help keep the space clean, lowering the contamination risk.
2. Versatility: Our ceilings can be changed to fit different cleanroom styles and sizes, allowing them to be used for many other purposes.
3. Compliance Assurance: You can be sure to follow the rules in your business with ISO classifications and high-performance features.
4. Improved Worker Comfort: Absorbing sound improves the work setting, which helps people concentrate and get things done.
What is a cleanroom ceiling tile?
Most regular ceiling tiles are made of gypsum and rock wool. Vinyl-covered cleanroom ceiling tiles prevent dust from entering. Cleanroom ceiling tiles made of FRP, painted aluminium, polycarbonate, and stainless steel are more expensive.
Why people use 2” painted aluminum cleanroom ceiling grid?
Most ISO-5 and ISO-6 cleanrooms use the 2" cleanroom grid. In these higher-class cleanrooms, there are usually a lot more HEPA fan filter units on the roof. Some ISO-5 cleanrooms have 100% HEPA covering in the ceiling. People who buy the 2" cleanroom grid can put teardrop lights on it and also a particular fountain head in it.
Can I mount electrical outlets in the cleanroom ceiling?
Yes. The modular system from Ziebaq has cleanroom ceiling cross tees that can hold electrical plugs.
How do you install sprinklers in a cleanroom ceiling?
Cleanroom ceiling tiles make up a big part of most of the ceiling. One of these ceiling tiles is where the fountain can be found. Most of the time, cleanrooms use push-through sprinkler heads, which only show the plastic cover over the hole for the sprinkler from inside the cleanroom. In ISO-5 and ISO-6 cleanrooms, a 2" cleanroom ceiling grid is sometimes used with sprinkler heads placed on the grid.
Can I use my existing ceiling for my cleanroom?
If the ceiling is a t-grid type, the grid can be used again if sanitary ceiling tiles are used instead of regular ceiling tiles. However, space above the current ceiling grid must be provided for the HEPA filters, ducts, and cleanroom lights.
Why do cleanrooms use t-grid ceiling systems?
The t-grid system makes it easy to place cleanroom ceiling tiles, HEPA fan filter units, and cleanroom lights. The flexible cleanroom plenum design and cleanroom t-grid ceiling allow for moving the HEPA fan filter units and cleanroom lights. Furthermore, it is simple for customers to add more HEPA fan filter units if they decide to raise the cleanroom's classification.
What other options are there for cleanroom ceilings?
American Cleanroom Systems has a cleanroom ceiling panel that can be used instead of a cleanroom t-grid ceiling. Though it doesn't have a cleanroom plenum design choice, it is often used in very small cleanrooms.
