Frequently Asked Questions ?

While purchasing a cold room solution, the first step is to identify the purpose of the cold room solution. Then, look for the temperature range suited to your stock, energy consumption, modular design & storage system, and value for the money you spend on it.

The usual variations in the thickness of cold room panels made with 38 to 42 kg per cubic meter PIR (polyisocyanurate) or PUR (polyurethane) foams are - 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, 120mm, 150mm,180mm, and 200mm. However,  Zeibaq can design thicker panels depending on your demands.

You can maintain a cold room by following the steps given below!

  • Check the evaporator daily to see the possible ice formation.
  • Look for oil leakage, freon levels, PLC switchboard functions, temperature, and head pressure in the secondary system, daily.
  • Clean the condenser coil and unit cooling fins, blower fans, and evaporator casing, and ensure the defrost & control valves are functioning, once a month.
  • Up-take an overall maintenance check annually.

There is no one standard size for a cold room as it depends on the specific needs and requirements of the user. The size of a cold room is typically determined by factors such as the amount of product to be stored, the required temperature range, and the available space for the installation.

Cold rooms are available in a range of sizes, from small walk-in units for storing a few products to large commercial cold storage facilities that can hold thousands of items. Standard sizes for cold rooms typically range from around 1.5 meters by 1.5 meters for small units to 9 meters by 12 meters for larger facilities.

However, it's important to note that custom sizes can be manufactured to meet specific requirements, and many suppliers offer tailored solutions to suit the specific needs of their customers. When selecting a cold room, it's important to consider the available space, the required temperature range, and the anticipated capacity to ensure that the unit is the right size for the intended application.

The terms cold room and cold storage are often used interchangeably, but there are some differences between the two.

A cold room typically refers to a small to medium-sized refrigerated space used for short-term storage of perishable items such as food, beverages, and pharmaceuticals. Cold rooms are often walk-in units that are designed to maintain a specific temperature range, typically between 0°C to 5°C, and are commonly used in commercial kitchens, restaurants, and supermarkets.

On the other hand, cold storage refers to larger refrigerated spaces designed for long-term storage of perishable items. Cold storage facilities can be used to store a wide range of products, including food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. These facilities are typically larger than cold rooms and can range from small commercial refrigerators to large warehouses with multi-level racking systems. Cold storage facilities are designed to maintain specific temperature and humidity levels to ensure the quality and safety of the stored products.

Another difference between cold rooms and cold storage is the duration of storage. Cold rooms are typically used for short-term storage of products that are intended to be consumed or used within a few days or weeks. In contrast, cold storage facilities are used for longer-term storage of products that may have a longer shelf life or require extended storage periods.

Overall, while both cold rooms and cold storage refer to refrigerated spaces for the storage of perishable items, they differ in terms of size, duration of storage, and intended use.
